The State Services Organization has renewed its 238k SF lease at 400-444 N Capitol St, inking 2012's largest private-sector office lease to date. "We searched the Capitol Hill, NoMa, and Capitol Riverfront submarkets before SSO decided to stay put," West, Lane, & Schlager's Mindy Saffer, who repped the tenant with colleagues Richard Lane, Eric West, and Richard Siegel, tells us. The reason why: Savings. "Relocating would have reduced costs over the long term, but staying put and renewing early allowed us to do it immediately."
